Basement Conversions

At this home in Piedmont, we supported the structure on two huge I-beams. Going in through the side of the driveway, we were able to use the Bobcat to do much of the excavation.

We installed new steel-reinforced retaining walls, a perimeter drainage system, and a new slab creating 1300 square feet of useable space.

Cribbing was used to support the steel-beams for the basement dig-out on a home in Berkeley.

A partial basement with a 6' ceiling at this Piedmont home was
completely excavated to create a habitable 7'6" ceiling height.
New retaining walls were constructed around the perimeter.

This three story apartment building in downtown Oakland had the original brick retaining walls in the basement and brick foundation in the crawls pace. We left the existing brick and installed new reinforced concrete retaining walls on the interior, saving the owner approximately $100,000 over the cost of the replacement.
